About Forma Ordina

A studio built on clarity, restraint, and intention.

We specialise in websites, branding, and visual content for businesses ready to be seen clearly.

At the core of the approach is a belief that good design doesn't need to shout, it needs to be organised, considered, and true to what the business actually is.

Every project begins with focus. We define what matters, establish where the identity needs to go, and build from there with care and deliberate intention. The process is collaborative, unhurried where it needs to be, and always shaped by detail, from layout and language to image and experience.

There is space at the centre of what we do. Simplicity is the foundation. But it's the small decisions, the ones you often don't notice, that make the work feel effortless.

Founder

Forma Ordina was founded by designer and photographer Robert Mawdsley.

Robert's background is rooted in fashion communication and photography, disciplines that shaped an eye for composition, atmosphere, and the relationship between image and identity. That foundation deepened through his time in East London, working within an art collective that championed emerging artists and designers.

It was there that a way of thinking about design developed, one that values visual culture over commercial convention, and editing over addition.

That thinking evolved into a multidisciplinary practice combining web design, branding, and photography into a single, unified offering.

He continues to lead the studio with a focus on clarity, restraint, and visual cohesion.

Who we work with

Forma Ordina works best with clients who value clarity and creative insight, whether reimagining a boutique hotel, launching a new fashion concept, or building a personal brand rooted in expertise and thoughtfulness.

We often work with design-conscious businesses in fashion, interiors, hospitality, and wellness, as well as with individuals, mentors, psychologists, creatives, consultants, who want their identity to reflect more than just what they do. The common thread is a desire for simplicity, cohesion, and work that’s made to last.

We may not be the right fit for projects focused purely on trends, high-volume sales, or loud design for its own sake.
